GE Manufacturing

GE’s employees serve the veteran population across the country with national and local community service. In 2015, our employees dedicated 16,000 volunteer hours to this mission.

GE's “Hiring Our Heroes” initiative was launched in 2012 with a commitment to hire 5,000 veterans in a five-year period. The company surpassed that goal in April 2016, eight months ahead of schedule! GE is now focused on a percentage-based goal and is on track to exceed 10 percent veteran hiring this year.

GE invests in growing the careers of veteran talent through speaking engagements, mentoring, specialized training, and advocacy programs.

Support for the Guard and Reserve

In 2012, GE renewed its statement of support with the Employers Support for the Guard and Reserve to ensure GE’s reservists and their families have our utmost support. Additionally, in 2009 GE signed a memorandum of agreement with the U.S. Army Reserve to guarantee priority consideration for job interviews for all qualified participating soldiers no later than 30 days after completing military occupational specialty training. GE benefits include a salary differential that ensures GE employees called to active duty maintain the same salary level as when they were working at GE for up to 36 months of deployment. Healthcare benefits for dependents allow continued healthcare coverage for families of GE employees who are deployed.
